600D-PE180 600d UHMWPE Fiber Fabric
Product Description:
Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber is a high-performance material made from polyethylene with a molecular weight of 1–5 million. It delivers extremely high specific strength—about 8–10 times stronger than steel by weight—and a very high modulus, second only to advanced carbon fiber. Lightweight yet highly durable, UHMWPE fabric offers excellent tensile strength, low elongation, strong impact resistance, and outstanding cut, abrasion, UV, and chemical resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications. The fabric is available in 200D to 3000D yarns and can be woven in plain, twill, or satin structures. It is widely used for cut-resistant gloves, protective clothing, bags, sports equipment, high-strength ropes, sailcloth, filtration materials, and reinforced cables.
Key Characteristics
Lightweight:
UHMWPE fabric features an extremely low density (approx. 0.97 g/cm³), making it one of the lightest high-performance fibers available. It significantly reduces overall structural weight while maintaining exceptional strength.
Durability & Environmental Resistance:
UHMWPE fibers provide outstanding resistance to moisture, chemicals, and UV exposure. They do not absorb water and maintain stable performance in humid, marine, and harsh outdoor environments.
Impact & Wear Resistance:
UHMWPE fabrics offer excellent impact absorption, superior cut resistance, and outstanding abrasion resistance. Their high energy absorption capacity makes them ideal for protective and high-wear applications.
Mechanical Performance:
UHMWPE combines extremely high tensile strength with low elongation and high modulus. It delivers high specific strength—up to 8–10 times stronger than steel by weight—while maintaining flexibility and fatigue resistance.
Electrical & Thermal Properties:
UHMWPE fabric is naturally electrically insulating and performs well in low-temperature environments. While it has moderate heat resistance compared to aramid, it offers excellent chemical stability and long-term durability.
Applications
UHMWPE fabrics are widely used in industries requiring lightweight strength and high cut resistance.
