Industrial Application Fireproofing Basalt Fiber Cloth
Product Description:
Basalt fiber fabric is woven from high-quality basalt yarns in plain, twill, satin, or unidirectional structures. It offers higher tensile strength than fiberglass and, although slightly weaker than carbon fiber, it remains an excellent alternative due to its lower cost and eco-friendly properties.Basalt fiber fabric features outstanding heat resistance, insulation performance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength, making it ideal for heat protection, friction materials, filament winding, marine applications, sports equipment, and construction reinforcement. As a high-performance engineering material, basalt fabric provides insulation performance 10× higher than E-glass fiber, higher elastic modulus and wave transparency than S-glass fiber, and a tensile strength of virgin filaments up to 4840 MPa.
Key Characteristics
Lightweight:
Basalt fiber composites offer a relatively low density (approx. 2.6–2.8 g/cm³) while providing excellent mechanical strength. They are lighter than many metal materials and provide an efficient balance between weight and structural performance.
Durability & Environmental Resistance:
Basalt fiber fabrics exhibit excellent resistance to corrosion, moisture, alkalis, acids, and UV exposure. They maintain stable performance in harsh industrial, marine, and outdoor environments.
Impact & Wear Resistance:
Basalt fabrics demonstrate strong impact resistance, abrasion resistance, and crack resistance, making them suitable for demanding structural and friction-related applications.
Mechanical Performance:
Basalt fibers provide high tensile strength (up to 4840 MPa for virgin filaments), good elastic modulus, and strong dimensional stability. They offer improved fatigue resistance and long-term durability compared to conventional fiberglass.
Electrical & Thermal Properties:
Basalt fabrics offer excellent electrical insulation and high-temperature resistance (continuous working temperature up to approx. 650°C). They are non-combustible and provide superior heat protection performance.

Basalt fiber fabrics are widely used across various industries due to their strength, thermal stability, and environmental resistance.
